Applications:

Clyde Materials Handling’s dense phase pneumatic conveying and pneumatic injection technologies were developed to provide a simple, reliable, efficient and accurate method of transporting materials to either single or multiple reception points within plant or directly to process.

CMH’s range of dense phase conveying solutions have the capability to transport typically difficult, abrasive materials at rates over 300 tonnes/hour, up to distances of 1.5 miles and at temperatures up to 450°C, all within a single conveying pipeline.

CMH’s range of pneumatic injection solutions have the capability to inject material volumetrically with accuracy of ±2% or gravimetrically to ±0.5% by weight. Containment backpressures of up to 50 barg can be accommodated by CMH’s pneumatic injection technology, with injection distances limited simply by the available conveying pressure.

CMH’s dense phase pneumatic conveying and injection technologies have been applied successfully within the metals market. Examples of typical applications include:
  • Iron & Steel:
- Coal Conveying / Injection / Storage / Preparation for Blast Furnace
- Iron Ore / Dust / Lime Conveying and Injection to Blast Furnace
- Carbon / Limestone / Ferro Alloy / Dust / Plastic Injection to Electric Arc Furnace
- Carbon / Lime / Ferro Alloy / Dust / Dolomite Injection to Steel Refining Facility
- Lime Injection to Basic Oxygen Furnace
- Dust Recycling and Conveying to Basic Oxygen Furnace
- Coal / Iron Ore / Dust / Lime Conveying and Injection to Direct Reduction Processes
  • Non-Ferrous
- Metal Concentrate Injection to Flash Furnace, CT Converter, Ausmelt, ISASMELT, Slag Furnace, Mitsubishi, Electric Furnace, Aluminium Smelter and Zinc Fumer processes
- Off Gas / Metallurgical Dust Conveying and Injection
- Carbon, Additive, Dust, Revert, Silica, Flux and Gypsum Conveying and Injection across non-ferrous processes
